Supervision rules: who needs supervision

The "supervised users" section of a supervision rule — which staff need supervising, and on which shifts.

This is the first half of a supervision rule (Admin → Supervision settings). It defines which staff need supervising, and on which of their shifts. (For the other half, see Supervision rules: who can supervise.)

Under The following users will be supervised, set two things:

When they are — who the rule covers:

  • users with roles — select the roles to supervise (e.g. Registrar).

  • from these users — instead pick specific named people.

If your site uses skills, add with skills to narrow it to people who also hold particular skills.

When they are working — which of their shifts the requirement applies to. Use the shift selector to choose the scope (for example, in any roster group, in a roster group, or on specific rosters), then optionally add filters to narrow it:

  • Tag filter — only shifts with certain roster tags.

  • Type filter — only certain roster types.

  • Time filter — only certain days or times (for example, overnight only).

For the full rule walkthrough, see Creating a supervision rule.
