The Admin page: Permissions

The Permissions group on the Admin page — site administrators, permission groups and searching permissions.

Each user is part of a 'permission group' that you define, which sets the permissions of everyone in that group simply and consistently. Permission groups can be applied to roles — so, for instance, all Consultant doctors get a consistent permission — and you can still add permissions to individuals or move individuals between groups.

  • Site administrators: quickly assign and change the individuals who have site administration permissions — to do and edit anything a HosPortal user can do. You need at least one site administrator at all times.

  • Permission groups: create and copy permission groups; change the permissions associated with a group; assign groups to roles or individuals. A 'Default' permission group automatically applies to anyone not otherwise given a group.

  • Search permissions: find permission groups or individuals who have specific permissions.
