An assignment counter counts the created assignments on your shifts — either filled or vacant.
Go to Admin > Counter settings and click Add. Give the counter a Name, then set Use this setting to count to assignments.
Select the roster or roster group
Under Count assignments that are, pick a selector:
in any roster group — everything across the site.
in roster groups / not in roster groups — named roster groups, or everything except them.
in rosters / not in rosters — named individual rosters, or everything except them.
Adding filters
Click + Add a filter to add any of the following. Each filter has a "not" version, and the red bin icon removes one.
Role: restricts the count to particular roles or particular people.
Vacant: Set it to vacant to count unfilled slots, or not vacant to filled assignments. By default, HosPortal sets this to not vacant, so change it if you want a vacancy counter.
Published: limits the count to published or unpublished shifts, which is useful while a roster is still being built.
Time frame
You can count the assignments over an entire day or sessions or day parts if you have them configured.
Click Save. The counter is now available to add to any roster view.
