Leave payroll settings tell HosPortal how much paid time a day (and a week) of leave is worth, so leave shows up correctly on timesheets. You can set different values for different days of the week, roles and leave types.
On your Admin page, search for "leave" and open Leave payroll settings (it sits under the Timesheets section).
Click the +Add button. A pop-up window will appear where you set up the rule:
Name: a label for the rule, for example "Registrars".
Start date and End date: the period this rule is in effect. Leave the end date blank if it has no end.
Day rate mode: choose how a day of leave is measured. Hours per day lets you enter a number of hours for each day; Start/end times lets you set nominal start and end times instead (useful for how leave displays on multi-day exports).
Day rates: set how many hours a full day of leave is worth on each day of the week. For example, a Registrar's leave day might be worth 8 hours Monday to Thursday and 10 hours on Friday, with 0 at the weekend.
Week rate: how many hours a full week of leave is worth (for example, 40 hours). The is the number of hours that will be applied to a timesheet when a user takes the whole of Monday to Friday as leave
Applies to users: who the rule covers. Choose roles and pick the relevant roles.
Applies to leave types: leave this on any type to cover all leave, or choose specific leave types if this rule should only apply to some. Any leave types that are NOT included will NOT be counted as leave on the timesheet.
Click Save. The setting appears in the list, summarising its weekday rate, weekend rate, week rate and who it applies to. Use Edit or Delete on the row to change it later.
You can add as many leave payroll settings as you need — for example different rules for different roles or leave types — and HosPortal applies whichever ones match.
