As a site admin, you can set rules that will make leave requests from certain roles to be approved when some conditions are met.
See the list of conditions here that take precedence over the others (see note below in the yellow highlighted portion);
The rules that will deny leave requests automatically;
The rules that will require leave requests to be approved;
The rules that will approve leave requests automatically;
Please note that "Denied" automatically take precedence over all other rules.
"Requires approval" rules take precedence over Approved automatically rules.
A rule relevant to a user must exist for them to apply for leave.
