An ad hoc shift is a shift that you add that does not follow the normal structure and timing of a shift for that specific day. An example might be adding a clinical allocation that would not normally occur on a specific day, or an on-call shift on a public holiday that has the timing of a normal non-holiday shift.

To create an ad hoc shift, enter the edit mode from the roster page and click the green plus button (A) wherever you want to create the shift. Assign the shift to a roster and confirm the start and end time. You have the option of setting a location and name for the shift, but these are optional.

To add a person to the ad hoc shift click the '+Add' button (B). You can create a vacant slot by selecting 'Set vacant' on the next screen. You can add additional people or create more vacant slots by clicking the '+Add' button again.

Once you have entered the details to can save as draft or published.
