The ability to hide or 'mask' emails and mobile numbers has been available since Release 45 (5 August 2024). This allows administrators to ensure no one can see other users' email and/or mobile numbers, but does not stop the users sending emails and SMS messages via the Direct Message function.
Masking can be done at a site level, which will apply this masking to all users in the system. Or it can be applied to individual users. Note that if you apply it at the site level then it is not possible to make a single individual's details visible.
It can only be managed by site administrators.
A. At site level
On the Admin page, go to Site details:
The following page will appear:
Click on 'Edit' and enable the 'Hide User Emails' or 'Hide User Mobiles'. This will hide all the emails and/or mobile numbers showing in the staff list.
Once done, click on 'Save'.
B. At user level
Go to the staff page and click on a staff name:
Click on 'Edit' then toggle on the 'Hide Email' or 'Hide Mobile' under profile, then click on 'Save'. This will hide the selected staff name's email and/or mobile number.
Note: When the option to hide is enabled, users with default permissions and admin permissions will not be able to view mobile numbers and emails. Only site administrators will have access to view this information when the hide button is switched on.
