• You need to understand what is visible on your Dashboard and how to navigate the system.
• You want to know which features may or may not be available at your hospital.
Step-by-step instructions
Access HosPortal
HosPortal runs in a web browser on any internet-connected device, including phones, tablets, and laptops.
Recommended browser: latest version of Chrome. Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge are also supported.
Important: Internet Explorer is not supported.
Navigate your Dashboard
After logging in, your Dashboard is your main starting point. It shows only the activities relevant to you: shifts and allocations you are assigned to, and activities you are eligible to see or participate in.
• If you are registered at multiple HosPortal sites, use the site selector to view each site separately or see all activity together.
• You can change your preferred view settings between calendar view and list view, and toggle types of activities on or off (e.g. show on-call shifts, hide events).
View rosters for other users
To see clinical allocations and on-call lists for other users, navigate to the relevant roster page. These pages are often labelled Call, Allocations, or Roster.

Feature availability
Not all menu items are visible at all hospitals. Each hospital configures HosPortal differently. Some features may not be enabled at your hospital, including:
• Clinical allocations and unallocated sessions
• Ability to swap and transfer shifts
• Leave/vacation management
• The shift marketplace
• SMS messaging
• Auto-invoicing for paid shifts
User access rights
Each user's access rights may differ, even within the same hospital. You may be able to see or amend parts of HosPortal that other users cannot.
Recommended articles for new users
Managing shifts (if enabled at your hospital)
• Using the shift market: placing shifts on the market and picking up or swapping shifts with others
